The ERA’s conference titled ‘Harmonising insolvency law in the EU’ is created to provide an overview of the latest case law, legislative initiatives, and policy developments in this field. It is aimed at lawyers practising in the field of restructuring and insolvency law, insolvency administrators, judges, academics, and researchers.

Dr Tamsyn Vella, Erremme’s lawyer who specialises in corporate and commercial law, participated and while describing her experience said, “The two-day hybrid insolvency course organised by ERA proved to be an exceptionally enlightening experience. Throughout the course, esteemed speakers shared their unique perspectives and insights regarding the newly proposed insolvency law by the European Commission, as outlined in its draft Directive aimed at harmonising specific aspects of insolvency law. The opportunity to hear diverse viewpoints from legal professionals regarding the potential benefits of this legislation was truly fascinating.

Additionally, engaging in collaborative brainstorming sessions with renowned insolvency experts provided valuable insights on effectively implementing the Insolvency Regulation in light of recent case law decisions or pending cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). I am sincerely grateful to Erremme for granting me the opportunity to attend this online meeting, which enhanced my understanding of this new legal framework. The knowledge acquired and the advice received from the esteemed panellists will undoubtedly prove invaluable in furthering my career.”
